Earlier this week, Rivals followed up with 2009 cornerback Darrell Givens out of Indian Head (Md.) Lackey. Since talking with him just days ago, more news is popping up for the 6-foot-1, 178-pounder.
"On Monday, I got an offer from North Carolina," he said. "I called the coaches and talked to Coach Thigpen. They told me they finished watching my highlight tape and sent out my paperwork.
"I never really thought I'd get an offer from the Tar Heels. They weren't recruiting me as hard as everyone else, but I like them a lot. I like the fact part of my family is in the North Carolina/South Carolina area."

Does the offer result in a new leader?
"I wouldn't say it changes a lot," he said. "I was supposed to go up there on February 16th, but I'm going to have to reschedule that.
"I would say right now Maryland is very high for me. I picked up an offer from them a month ago and have been talking a lot with Adrian Moten. I met with him on Sunday when he came over to my house. He's a real close friend of the family and that's a big tie for me. He updated me on their depth chart and how they are losing a lot of seniors next year."
