Ricky Town visited Stanford in the spring and was back this summer to throw for the coaching staff. He landed an offer from the Cardinal on Tuesday morning and now they're being highly considered on Town's impressive list.
"It was awesome," Town said. "I really enjoyed it. Getting another look at Stanford, because I was up there in the spring, it was fun to get back up there and actually throw for coach (David) Shaw. It was a great experience and I really enjoyed it.
"They're definitely really high on my list. I'm definitely considering them highly."
The 2015 quarterback from Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure has steered away from naming a clear frontrunner and since his summer has been so productive, it's been tough to name one school ahead of others.
The Stanford off is definitely big and something Town, who looked good at the RCS Los Angeles this spring, will seriously consider.
"Stanford as a university is a special place," Town said.
"It's different than a lot of other places and they just so happen to be one of the top five football teams. It has that unique combination. That was the biggest thing that stood out, that it was different."
So far, Town has been offered by Alabama, Arizona State, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Stanford, Texas, UCLA and USC. Every place Town has camped this summer he's landed a new offer.
The Ventura St. Bonaventure standout is pretty much done with unofficial visits this summer. In the fall, Town hopes to attend games at Alabama, Georgia and Texas along with getting back to Stanford and possibly other places.
