Another Georgia sleeper wakes up

Kingsland (Ga.) Camden County cornerback Kevin Patterson is another sleeper prospect in the state of Georgia that has made a name for himself since the beginning of his the season. The 6-foot-0, 172 pound Patterson has picked up offers from Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, East Carolina, Wofford, Tennessee State and Delaware.
"Right now my top five is Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, East Carolina, Wofford and Georgia Tech," said Patterson. "Georgia Tech is my favorite right now. They are recruiting me pretty hard. They call me about once a week usually. If they offered then that is probably where I would go."

So far this season Patterson has 25 tackles, three interceptions (one returned for touchdown), 255 yards rushing and three touchdowns.
"I'm going to factor in distance from home because I don't want to get to far away from home. I'll also take a look at academics, most of the schools I'm interested in have a good academic reputation and that is important. I also want to go to a successful program."
Patterson's teammate Djay Jones is one of the fastest rising safety prospects in Georgia and is also picking up big time offers. Are the two interested in going to the same place?
"That is something we have talked about and it's something that I know I would like to do. We are good friends, we run track together and hang out and all that stuff. We visited Florida earlier in the year because he was interested in them, but I wasn't really. I think we're going to take our official visits and then sit down and discuss it together."
Patterson runs the forty yard dash in 4.4 seconds. He has a 255 pound bench press and 350 pound squat. He should have no problem qualifying academically with a 3.3 GPA and 960 SAT score.
