Another DB emerging in Louisiana

Talented defensive backs within the state of Louisiana have been emerging left and right throughout the spring and summer and one of the newest names on the radar of several major colleges is Jonesboro (La.) Hodge prospect RobDonovan Lewis. Lewis recently made a three-school trip through Mississippi and Louisiana and made quite an impression on a few coaching staffs.
"I went to Ole Miss, Mississippi State and LSU," Lewis said. "It was nice. They were pretty good camps."

Lewis hit both Ole Miss and Mississippi State on Monday and followed those up with a showing in Baton Rouge at the LSU camp. At least one of those performances was good enough to earn him a scholarship offer.
"Mississippi State said I did good and offered me a scholarship," he said. "I talked to them when I was on my way to LSU. They told me how pleased they were with my covering skills and they said that they were offering. I was excited. I like Mississippi State. It's a good school."
Mississippi State joins Minnesota and Louisiana-Monroe on Lewis' offer list and there are more schools that are interested, including the major in-state program of LSU.
"I talked to the cornerbacks coach (Ron Cooper) and the defensive coordinator (John Chavis)," he said. "They're pretty nice guys and they seem like pretty good coaches. I thought it was a pretty good camp."
Lewis is also gaining attention from Oklahoma, Louisiana Tech, Northwestern and Arkansas. He would love to gain an additional offer from Ohio State or Oklahoma.
"I don't know if they're interested or not but I sent my highlight tape up to Ohio State," he said. "Them and Oklahoma, I just love the coaching staff, the program prestige and they win conference championships."
