Another cut coming for Masina

Osa Masina's recruitment doesn't do much day-to-day changing. The same eight schools are still alive in the race to land the four-star linebacker. There are no other unofficial visits on his agenda, either.

Quiet as things are now, though, some semblance of news could be coming soon.
"All I know is that'll be narrowing schools down again pretty soon," Masina said. "I'm going to get it down to five real soon. This is going to be a hard cut. It's going to come down to talking it over with my family and personal feelings.
So while Masina has a take on which type of defense is the best fit for him, style of play will matter little to his decision. He's more concerned with fit and relationships.
"I'm probably more of of a stand-up end," Masina said. "I'm a standup end or rush end type of guy, but I guess it doesn't matter that much to me."
Masina's last out-of-state visit was to Arizona State in late May, but he has been on campus at Utah, the school that his brothers attend, many times since. Just what that means, however, is unclear.
"I've been there over 20 times, so I'm pretty familiar," Masina said of the in-state college. "I go for camps and go up there with my friends or for a junior day with buddies. Or just to see my brothers. I had to go check out the new facility. I go for different reasons."
A standout at Salt Lake City's Brighton High School, Masina may not have his final five in place just yet. He does, however, have a commitment date in mind. The specific blueprint of the moment remains fuzzy in his mind, but he has a general idea of when and how he'll announce his decision.
"I'm thinking I'm going to do hats at the Army game," Masina said. "You never know, though. If I go on an official and love it, I will do it before. I'll probably have five or maybe three hats on the table when I do it."
