Another Cali QB to watch

There is another quarterback in northern California who isn’t getting the attention he deserves. Roger Theder the well respected private quarterback coach is currently tutoring Kyle Wright, Dennis Dixon and Sam Keller. For those of you new to Pac10Recruiting.com, Wright, Dixon and Keller are three of the nation’s most coveted quarterback prospects.
Theder is coaching another quarterback who he thinks has the same type of skills as his more highly publicized trio of Wright, Dixon and Keller.

The quarterback in question is J.C. Lewis (6-0, 190, 4.8) from Walnut Creek (Calif.) Las Lomas. “If J.C. had the height of Kyle, Dennis or Sam, he would be right there with them getting recruited by everybody,” Theder said.
More than likely, Lewis will be one those players who someone will take a chance on and end up beating teams that passed on him.
Lewis is a three-time all-league and a two-time all-area selection. He had a stellar junior season passing for 3,325 yards and 26 touchdowns while hitting on 60% of his passes.
Lewis can also tuck the ball underneath his arm and make something happen running with the football. He picked up 415 yards and four touchdowns running the football.
Lewis runs a very advanced, complicated offense and he runs it very smoothly. The offense demands that you read linebackers and safeties much like many modern offenses of today. His coach has all the faith in the world in him and Lewis has the green light to audible at the line of scrimmage.
Lewis has been working with Theder since the ninth grade and is fundamentally sound in all aspects of the position. He has a strong arm and can make all throws. Lewis is also an outstanding touch passer.
Lewis just returned from camping at Northwestern where he was electronically clocked in the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds. He was also very impressive in drills. Lewis will also attend the Fresno State prospect camp later on this month.
Lewis is hearing from Northwestern, Fresno State, Boise State, San Jose State, Utah State, Montana and Toledo.
Lewis is one to watch with an interested eye. He will play in college, it’s just a matter of where…
