Another big offer for McNamara

Notre Dame has been recruiting Taylor McNamara for a few months and the Irish finally offered the San Diego (Calif.) Westview standout on Thursday, another big offer for one of the best tight ends on the West Coast.
McNamara, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound prospect who's included on the Rivals 250 to watch list, said he now wants to check out Notre Dame more and possibly get out to South Bend for a visit at some point.

"I want to check them out," McNamara said. "They have a good history with tight ends and it's a great school, great campus and it has great academics. The degree is important and I definitely want to get educated wherever I go.
"I've been talking to (tight ends) coach (Mike) Denbrock for a while now. He's been recruiting me for about three or four months. He told me to call him today and I called him and he let me know about the offer."
Notre Dame is just the latest of many offers for McNamara, who will visit USC this weekend for its junior day.
Arizona, Cal, Colorado, Florida State, Kentucky, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Stanford, UCLA and Washington have all offered and McNamara said he's still waiting to see whether Oregon will offer.
McNamara said he plans to narrow his list to a handful this spring or summer but with so many schools getting involved it's difficult for him to pinpoint a time that would be good because it's been so busy.
"It's getting to a point like, man, when do I start narrowing it down?" McNamara said.
"There is still Oregon. I'm still waiting on that one. I'm going to wait for them to make their decision whether they'll offer and then sometime in the spring or beginning of the summer I'll start narrowing it down for official visits."
