Another big offer for FL cornerback

As the spring progresses and summer approaches, one of the hottest names in Florida continues to be Hollywood (Fla.) Hollywood Hills cornerback Tony Grimes. Grimes' persistence on the camp circuit and hard work has earned him several offers and the interest continues to pick up. His most recent offer in particular is of high interest to him.
"West Virginia just offered," Grimes said on Monday morning. "I just got off the phone with Coach Doc [Holliday] and he told me that the offer is on the way in the mail. That was one of the ones I was hoping to get."

West Virginia has built a significant presence in south Florida over the past few years and Grimes has been draws to the tradition and prestige of the program.
"I have a high interest in West Virginia," he said. "I don't really know too much about them but it's West Virginia. They haven't come to see me yet but they will sometime next week. I already had a good connection with Coach Doc on and off the field. I guess they just got done evaluating my film and decided to offer."
While Grimes is not ready to name any favorites, he does have the Mountaineers near the top of his list.
"At the moment I wouldn't say that I have a top list but they're one of the schools I like more than some of the others on my list," he said.
Recently, Grimes has picked up offers from Texas Tech, South Carolina and others. There are still more that he is waiting on though including Oklahoma State, Michigan and Ohio State. For now though, Grimes is focused on spring practice.
"We have 20 starters coming back this year so we aren't looking to lose," he said. "I'm really excited to be playing."
Among the schools that have said that they will be stopping by practice are Oklahoma State, Florida State, Miami, Florida, Michigan and Vanderbilt.
