The 6-foot-4, 289-pound Annan has all five official visits still to take, and the two schools he is most certain will receive them reside on the East Coast.
"I do know I am going to take one of my official visits to Maryland," Annan said. "That's where I want to start off first to show a little bit of respect that they offered me first."
An exact date for his official visit to Maryland has not been decided, but Annan does know what questions he wants to get answered on the visit.
"No. 1, is this a place I can see myself living for the next four years?" he said. "I want to be around the guys and see what they are like. Maybe do interviews with a teacher or someone in the field that I want to go into."
Going into his senior season, Annan had Boston College as another school that was high on his list to receive an official visit, and the Golden Eagles remain on track to host him later in his recruitment.
"That's very likely," Annan said. "They are another school that is up there in my mind. I look forward to getting a chance to see them after this season is done because they don't do official visits during the season."
As for his remaining official visits, Annan says he has a lot of schools on the "maybe" list, but not a lot of schools on the "solid" list.
"I am going into as many official visits as it takes before I feel I have chosen a (school) outright that speaks for itself and speaks to me and there is no second-guessing," he said.
Annan is ranked as the No. 42 defensive tackle in the 2015 class and the No. 14 player in the state of Illinois. His Lake Forest (Ill.) Academy team holds a 1-3 record this season.
