After more than a year of fielding calls from coaches, attending camps and visiting schools, offensive guard John Anevski has made his decision.
The 6-foot-4, 275-pound guard from Cincinnati (Ohio) Elder will be staying in his home state to play in the Mid-American Conference.
"I committed to Miami (Ohio) over Louisville and Illinois," he said. "It really came down to the coaches and feeling like it's the best fit for me. I really like the staff and what they're going to be doing."
Prior to making his decision Anevski took official visits to Louisville and Miami-OH. He did not officially visit Illinois.
"The coaches have told me to come in ready to play in June," he said. "They've said that the older guys are basically going to be like freshman with some of the scheme changes that there are going to be, so I have a chance to play."
He went on to say he was 100-percent solid in his decision and would not be considering other schools.
Anevski is ranked the No. 64 offensive guard in the nation by Rivals.com.
