Andrews starting to pick up recruiting buzz

Trevor Andrews still awaits his first scholarship offer. Then, the class-of-2018 quarterback has plenty of time to change that. There’s also plenty of reason to think he’ll do so. At 6-foot-2 Andrews has the build of college-bound quarterback. But it’s not his build alone that’s creating recruiting buzz.

Andrews’ name is beginning to circulate in recruiting circles and in college football offices alike. The Theodore (Ala.) High School sophomore may not be one of the class’ can’t-miss quarterback prospects, but colleges are beginning to take interest.

That much is certain.

“LSU said they saw my film and they liked it,” Andrews said. “They want me to come back there for camp, and I’m going to do that.”

Andrews attended LSU’s recent spring game and also recently visited Southern Miss, which is also showing interest in his services. He plans to camp at Southern Miss in addition to LSU and may hit some other stops on the circuit as well.

“I’m want to branch out and go to Florida’s camp and maybe Alabama’s camp. I kind of had to choose last weekend because my teammate and I were invited to Alabama and LSU, but we went to LSU, so I want to go to Alabama’s camp.”

RIVALS REACTION: Andrews has a long build and a nice delivery. It’s unclear for now which level of college football he fits best, but he’s likely to develop into a player that can help a college team. With two seasons of high school football left in front of him, Andrews is certainly worth monitoring going forward.
