Andrew Booth explodes with Alabama, Clemson and Georgia offers

THE LATEST: What a week it was last week for Andrew Booth. The 6-foot, 185 pound cornerback in the 2019 class out of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer added offers from Alabama, Clemson and Georgia in a three day span.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "Those offers I got last week came as a big surprise because of the timing," said Booth. "I really thought those schools would offer me, but I thought they would come in the future. I camped at Alabama and Clemson this summer, but I took a visit over to Georgia recently, so I knew all three schools were interested in me. One offer after another definitely came as a surprise to me though."

ALABAMA: "At Alabama, I got a little workout in with their coaches and their coaching style really stood out to me. I did not get to see too much, but I really like coach [Derrick] Ansley (defensive backs) and the way he coaches. I like how serious Alabama is about football. They work hard to win and many dream of suiting in that Alabama uniform."

CLEMSON: "I worked out at the Clemson camp, I got the tour and I had a good time. It is beautiful up there, I really like coach [Dabo] Swinney's style of coaching and they have some good things going on there. The atmosphere there is something I really like there. I have been there a few times there and it is just nice."

GEORGIA: "I was over at Georgia for the first time a couple of weeks ago and I had a good time. It was my first time there and I got to hang out with the coaches, I saw the facilities and it was nice. They have brought in some good players the last few years and that is nice. I got some time with coach [Kirby] Smart and coach [Mel] Tucker (defensive coordinator) while there, so that was cool too."

ON FAVORITES: "I grew up a fan of Alabama and Clemson. I have watched a lot of their games. I just like how they play, the players that have played there and I have liked watching them for a while. Now, I would say Clemson and South Carolina stand out the most. I have good relationships with the coaches at South Carolina and I like the family-feel there."

EARLY DECISION: "I would like to commit as soon as I feel ready. I do not see it happening this season, but I think by next spring, I will be committed to someone. I want to get recruiting overwith as early as I can, then just focus on Archer and my teammates."

RIVALS TAKE: Look for Booth to be on the road as much as he can this fall taking in games and seeing how he fits into systems. He is one that wants to put the recruiting process behind as quickly as he can. He is a cornerback with great size and ability, so look for his name to continue to pick up steam and he is likely to become a national name before all is said and done.
