Andre surprised by Big Ten offer

Zaire Andre had no inkling Nebraska was going to offer but when he heard from his coaches at Inglewood, Calif., that it came through the three-star wide receiver was overjoyed.
Now that the Huskers have been added to his list, Andre said it's time to start doing research on the program and see how he fits in the Nebraska offense.

"They actually just called my coach and they delivered the message and it came to me this morning," Andre said.
"They said they saw film on me and my coach sent them over my transcripts. They were pretty impressed with my highlight film and it just went from there."
Houston is the only other offer for Andre at this point but the Inglewood standout has been talking to pretty much the entire Pac-12 so more could be on the way especially this spring when coaches come out to see him.
Still, landing an offer from Nebraska is definitely huge and something the 6-foot, 170-pound prospect said he will seriously consider.
"That's really big for me right now," Andre said. "I didn't see that one coming at all. I know that's a really big school and it's really big for me.
"I don't know too much about them. I want to learn more about them. I'm planning on taking a visit down there. I just talked to the coach and we were planning a visit."
A trip to Lincoln could happen as early as this summer but Andre, who's been hearing a lot more from Washington, Washington State and San Jose State, said he might have to wait until the fall to take an official trip.
Either way, the Inglewood standout said he definitely wants to see Nebraska now before making a decision.
"We were talking about them having a Big Red Day I believe in June but if that doesn't work I'll probably just take an official out there," Andre said.
