Anderson still waiting on offer No. 1

Kilgore (Tex.) Junior College cornerback Jimmie Anderson is the No. 28 JUCO prospect in the country, but he is having a hard time getting schools to extend an offer. Several schools are in close contact with the 5-9, 170-pound Anderson, though, and that first offer could be at his door soon.
"I'm pretty anxious, waiting to see where I'm going to end up going," Anderson said. "I don't have any [offers] yet, but I know I am getting close with Auburn. They've been talking to me and I talked to Troy last week. I talked to Arkansas State last week too. Auburn is probably the main one I really want."

Although his talks with Auburn have sparked Anderson's interest in the Tigers, he is quick to point out that any and all offers are welcome at this stage of the process. Anderson is scheduled to graduate in December and he will be eligible to enroll in January, so his timetable is short.
"Basically, I just think they are waiting until their season is over with," Anderson said. "A couple schools end their season this week and next week, so they are basically saying they'll wait until the season is over with to see what they really need."
Baylor and Arkansas were two teams Anderson had talked with extensively in the past, but it has been several weeks since he has been in touch with those staffs.
There are only four more weekends left for Anderson to take official visits, but he is ready to schedule them with schools as soon as that possibility is offered.
"Auburn has said something about [visiting] and I'll probably take a visit up there," Anderson said. "Whatever schools offer I will visit."
Kilgore J.C. finished the season 4-6. On defense, Anderson accumulated 36 tackles and four interceptions. He also averaged 32 yards on 11 kickoff returns and earned first team all-conference honors for his play this fall.
