At the Texas State 7-on-7 Championships in College Station, Richmond (Texas) George Ranch running back Darius Anderson mentioned he was planning to make a decision around the end of July. As July came to a close Anderson was not ready to make a decision, but he did reveal plans to make a preseason decision.

THE LATEST: Anderson currently has a top five of Utah, Houston, Missouri, Texas, and California. He also remains in touch with Texas A&M. He is not ready to name a favorite among his top five and he does not have any visits scheduled at this time. Utah, Missouri, and Cal remain top options for official visits.
IN HIS WORDS: Anderson on why he plans to make a decision before the season: "Just so I can focus on my season."
ANALYST TAKE: Texas appears to be in the strongest position of his top five especially with Houston recently grabbing a commitment from running back Mulbah Car. He has taken a few visits to Austin over the course of the recruiting process, and he has already established a strong bond with the coaching staff. Official visits appear to be in his future even if he does make a preseason decision, and keep an eye on Texas A&M. He does not have an offer from the Aggies yet, but he has made no secret an offer from College Station would catch his attention. Playing time will be the most important factor in his decision.
