Anderson has plans

Mineola (Texas) three-star offensive tackle Austin Anderson and his brother Riley Anderson have become two of the hottest prospects in East Texas.
The brothers have both received offers from Cincinnati, Missouri, North Texas, Southern Miss, Texas State, Texas Tech, and Tulsa, and Austin has also received an offer from Northwestern.

The two have been busy over the last few weeks, and have a few more stops on the schedule.
"We've been to two so far," Austin Anderson said. "We went to Oklahoma State and Baylor, and this weekend we're going to TCU. The 28th we're going to Texas. The first, which is the very next day, we're going to Tulsa. On the 7th we're going to Texas Tech and on the 8th we're going to Oklahoma. We're trying to hit it hard right here at the beginning so we can kind of get a feel for where we want to go and what we want to do with our future."
Both of the early visits left an impression on Austin, but different aspects of each trip caught his attention. In Waco, he liked the attitude around the Baylor program.
"The coaches, their attitude that they're going to win a National Championship," Austin Anderson said. "That was the main thing I left there thinking about. How motivated they are to go to work every day and not let the kids down that play there and how they bring all their energy to the program every day. They said they're going to win a National Championship before they leave there. That was the main thing that stood out to me about Baylor."
In Stillwater, it was the overall feel of the city which caught his attention.
"The facilities up there were unbelievable from my perspective, and the town of Stillwater has the nicest people I've ever met," Austin Anderson said. "All of them were as friendly as they could be. That's what stood out to me there."
Austin made his debut at Mineola at center before moving to offensive tackle as a sophomore and Junior. The 6-foot-4, 290-pound standout is being recruited at several spots up and down the line, and he would be perfectly happy playing any of them.
"I think I can play any of the five positions on the line," Austin Anderson said. "Lee Hays from Texas Tech, I asked him what I should start working on and he thought I could play tackle at the next level. Just the way I play he thinks I can do it. Then Jarrett Anderson from TCU told me to start practicing snapping. I think I can play any of the three. It doesn't really matter to me where I play as long as I get to play."
In addition to keeping an open mind about his future position, he is also keeping an open mind about his current future college destination.
"I don't have a top three yet or anything," Austin Anderson said. "We haven't even been to all the campuses yet. After this spring and going to all the schools I'll have a good idea about where I want to go maybe. We'll see from there."
