Anderson awaits additional offers

Otis Anderson may not hold a long list of scholarship offers. That said, interest in his recruitment is in no short supply. Plenty of schools have reached out to the class-of-2017 running back, and Anderson is hoping such communication will lead to a few more offers down the road.

Vanderbilt is he latest school to ramp up its contact with the Jacksonville (Fla.) University Christian School tailback, and Anderson is hopeful things will progress quickly from here.
"I've been talking to Vanderbilt a lot lately," Anderson said. "I've been talking to the running backs coach there, Coach [Charles] Bankins, a lot. They show me a lot of love."
But whether there's an offer to follow or not, a visit to the Commodores' Nashville-based campus seems likely. In fact, the details are already being hashed out.
"Vandy wants me to come up there to visit for, I think, the Missouri game," Anderson said." "I have to be up there anyway to play a team called Brentwood, so I have to be in the area. They are trying to get a visit set up for me to watch the game the day after."

WHAT'S NEXT?: Anderson will likely visit Vanderbilt on Oct. 24. He hopes to visit Mercer as well. Anderson has visited Georgia Southern once already this fall and hopes to make a return trip soon. If things with Kentucky progress toward a scholarship offer, Anderson may tour the Wildcats' campus as well.
IN HIS WORDS: "Kentucky has been sending me a lot of hand-written letters," Anderson said. "I've been getting two or three each day. I've gotten 10 of them from Kentucky so far, so I think they like me a lot."
RIVALS' REACTION: Anderson is likely to wait until next spring to make a verbal commitment, but he has set no hard timetable for a decision at this time. His recruitment could take any number of turns depending on which offers arrive in the future. Attempting to project where he may land is nearly impossible at such an early juncture.
