Anastasio ready for stretch run

Fairfax (Va.) Robinson athlete Chase Anastasio was supposed to visit Maryland last weekend. Did he make the trip?
"No, I didn't go," said the 6-foot-2, 190-pounder. "I didn't want to really add another team to the mix at this point. I'm trying to make this an easier decision and I liked Maryland but they weren't near the top for me."

Anastasio has two official visits left -- to Virginia on Jan. 17 and Virginia Tech on Jan. 24.
"We tried to move the Tech visit up so we could get the process over with a week earlier, but they don't have a recruiting weekend on Jan. 10," he said. "I still plan on taking it because they're an in-state school and have been recruiting me hard."
Virginia has been the leader, if only by the slightest of margins, for awhile now. Is that still the case?
"Yes, but it's still not by a lot," he said. "They're recruiting me the hardest and have been all along and I like the football and academic opportunities there. I get along well with the coaches as well."
Anastasio has already been to Notre Dame and Ohio State and is still considering those two schools as well.
"Notre Dame was very nice," he said. "And Ohio State is a great program. It won't be an easy decision."
