Middletown's Andre Amos is one of the top athletes in southwest Ohio. Amos, who has been a varsity starter since his sophomore year when he played wide receiver, doubled as a cornerback his junior season.
Amos caught 30 passes for 392 yards during his junior season. Amos averaged 13.1 yards per reception and scored 4 times. He also intercepted four passes on the other side of the ball.
The 6-foot-1 and 180 pound Amos has run a 48.3 second 400 meters, as well as a 22.07 200. He has a 3.0 GPA.
"He's had several scholarship offers including Michigan," Middletown coach Eric Tudor said. "Michigan, West Virginia, Boston College, Northwestern, Purdue, and Bowling Green have offered."
"I think Miami of Ohio is going to offer too."
"Michigan wants him as a cornerback. All the other schools say he has his choice, wide receiver or cornerback."
So which schools is Amos most interested in?
"Right now I'm looking at Michigan, Purdue, Miami of Ohio, and Northwestern also," Amos said. "I'll visit all of them this summer."
"I'm thinking I'll decide before the season starts, or maybe a week into it."
"I'm maybe leaning to Michigan a little."
