Geordon Porter had this past weekend circled on his calendar for a while since he’s been so interested in Notre Dame.

His trip to South Bend did not disappoint.

The speedy three-star receiver from Etiwanda, Calif., had a fantastic trip to Notre Dame, seemed to love everything about it and the Irish are clearly one of the top schools as his recruitment continues.

“The visit was really great,” Porter said.

“It's a great school with great football, great facilities, great fans, and great academics. I've never been to a game where the crowd is so into it and constantly screaming and cheering play after play. It was a great atmosphere.”

During his time in South Bend, the four-star standout had numerous opportunities to discuss things with a bunch of coaches, including coach Brian Kelly, and that was another major selling point from the weekend.

“The coaches are all great and really good guys,” Porter said.

“I talked to each and every one of them. Coach Brian Kelly was great too and said I would fit well in that offense. Overall, it was just an amazing weekend.”

So does Notre Dame move to the top of his list? Porter would not go that far but there’s no doubt the Irish will continue to be a top school as the four-star looks at some other favorites and takes some other visits.

“Hard to say (that Notre Dame is a favorite) but my interest in them just got even higher,” Porter said.

Two more official visits are planned so far. Porter will be at Arizona State in a couple weeks when Oregon visits and then he’s going to Utah in early October when the Utes host Stanford.

This summer, Porter announced a top seven of Notre Dame, Cal, Arizona State, UCLA, Utah, Colorado and Alabama.
