AM is first to offer 2010 Dallas LB

Dallas (Texas) Skyline is one of the most talented teams in the entire state of Texas and the talent extends far beyond just the senior class. With prospects on both sides of the ball in the class of 2010 it is good to get involved early with the high-powered program and that is exactly what Texas A&M has done with a recent offer to Dominique Patterson.
Patterson is a 6-foot-1, 210 pound linebacker that became the second junior linebacker on the Skyline roster to pick up an offer from the Aggies. The first one was 2010 Rivals250 to watch member Corey Nelson.

"I got offered by A&M," Patterson said. "That was real exciting because that was basically my number one school that I was looking to get an offer from and it came first.
"I've always liked A&M, just the school and the position and everything about the school. I don't feel like looking too far into it right now but I just always liked A&M."
Patterson has been getting plenty of interest from a wide variety of other programs such as Notre Dame, Nebraska, Iowa and Iowa State.
How does all of the early attention feel?
"It feels real good," he said. "I just have to keep working hard and not let that go to my head."
Patterson knows he has a long way to go and is always trying to improve his game, particularly since he is relatively new to the linebacker position.
"My strengths are my speed and my size," he said. "Right now I'm just becoming a student of that position. Half my life I've played running back. Linebacker is kind of new to me. I just started playing that last year."
The move has come easy for Patterson and he and Nelson are part of a devastating linebacker corps that will continue to get better. With the talent that is compiled on both sides of the ball for Skyline, the sky is the limit.
"People always tell us that once the defense and the offense are clicking at the same time and we're not turning the ball over, nobody can stop us," he said. "We gotta get after it every play. We've been working really hard. Right now I'm just focused on the playoffs and trying to make the state championship."
