Alvarez adds offer, favors two

Mesquite (Texas) Horn offensive lineman Jonathan Alvarez has been busy on the camp circuit this summer and it has paid off with offers coming from ULM, New Mexico State, and Northwestern State.
On Thursday, he added his fourth offer from Houston, and it is safe to say the Cougars have already made a strong impression.

"It means a lot," Alvarez said. "Right now they're my biggest offer. They're the ones I'm looking at the most out of all my offers.
"I first met them when I went to their camp in DeSoto. I had no prior knowledge of them before that. My coach just told me they wanted me up there so I went. I ended up meeting them and found out they were nice guys and a good program. So I'm heading back down on Sunday. They want me to do the recruitment thing they're doing."
Houston currently sits at the top of Alvarez's list, along with another Texas program.
"As of right now I really like TCU and Houston," Alvarez said.
The standout offensive lineman camped at TCU in June, and keeps in touch with Horned Frog coaches on a weekly basis.
"I've been talking to TCU and they're recruiting me as a center," Alvarez said. "I really like that school and that program. So as of right now it's TCU and Houston at the top of my list."
With two schools at the top, Alvarez has give thought to when he would like to make a college decision, and it could be coming soon.
"I was thinking early into the season," Alvarez said. "Maybe one or two games in, maybe two or three weeks."
