Alston lands new Pac-12 offer

Lavan Alston has been talking regularly with the Arizona State coaching staff and finally the Sun Devils came through with his latest offer.
The four-star wide receiver from Ventura (Calif.) St. Bonaventure had an excellent junior season and has now added his fifth offer to go along with Cal, Oregon State, Vanderbilt and Washington State.

Alston, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound recruit, talked with ASU in recent days and now the Sun Devils are on the board.
"We had been talking a little bit and they told me to call them and they offered me," Alston said. "I talked to my position coach, coach (DelVaughn) Alexander. We talked and he told me about the offer."
The Ventura St. Bonaventure standout is excited about Arizona State especially because he's talked with teammate Bryce Dixon about the school.
Dixon, who signed with USC, had seriously considered Arizona State throughout his recruitment and only said good things regarding the Sun Devils.
"I go to school with Bryce Dixon and he visited their school twice and he told me he really enjoyed going to their campus and we also know a lot of players from there," Alston said.
"I guess with Oaks Christian in the area and a lot of other schools, some players have gone there."
It is still too early to name favorites but Arizona State is definitely of interest to Alston, who is also hearing from other Pac-12 programs. Rivals.com rates him as the No. 234 prospect in the 2015 class.
"I've heard good things about ASU," Alston said. "I haven't heard anything negative about them so it was really positive to get an offer from them."
