Allen taking his time

As many prospects find out, the recruiting process can get very stressful. Rising sophomore Pat Allen is finding this out now. The offensive lineman from Reisterstown (Md.) Franklin has eight offers but has been taking some time off.
"Lately I've just been training," said the 6-foot-4, 266-pound Allen. "I haven't been able to contact any school lately so I'm just waiting for the season to start up."

With offers from big time programs like Florida State, Tennessee, USC, Virginia and others, Allen was trying to learn more about some schools before he took done time off.
"I haven't heard much from the schools that have offered me already this summer because I've been traveling a lot," he said. "Everything I hear about comes from my coach and I haven't talked to him lately so I don't really know a lot about what's going on.
"I visited Florida and I wanted to see Miami while I was down there but I didn't have a chance to because I was there for a basketball tournament," Allen said. "I went to see Florida but I didn't get to talk to any coaches are anything."
Allen did, however, mention that there is one new school in the mix.
"The only new school that I've heard from is Arkansas," he said. "I talked to one of the coaches down there and he seems really cool. I've talked to him a few times already."
Allen was one of the top offensive performers at the Richmond RCS.
