After rushing for 1,807 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior, Allen, Texas, running back DeMyron Martin decided to rush into making a college decision by committing earlier today.
“I called SMU and told coach Bennett and coach Roark that I’m committing,” Martin, a two-star prospect that is 6-foot-1 and 195 pounds, said. “I just wanted to get it out of the way. I think SMU is a great school, and that’s a place where I can come in and make a difference.”
Martin picked SMU over offers from New Mexico State and Tulsa. He will visit SMU on January 9.
“Coach Bennett said I made his day,” Martin said. “I’m excited about my decision.”
