Allen nabs first FBS offer

Antreal Allen recently secured a verbal offer from Arkansas State and is starting to hear from a number of BCS schools.
The cover corner played half the season on defense before being moved to the offensive side of the ball to help the team. Allen says he prefers defense though when it comes to playing at the next level.

"I like playing defense better. You have a chance to make a play on every snap," replied Allen.
Auburn and Mississippi State are beginning to show interest. The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder also says Georgia is sending a lot of mail along with Clemson, Notre Dame, and Tennessee.
Allen said, "I like hearing from the SEC schools. Mississippi State is a program that plays good defense. Auburn is right down the street from me."
It's tough for Arkansas State to compete with the BCS programs, but Allen did say "it feels great" earning an offer.
"It means a lot especially coming from coach Malzahn. When I was freshman he had success at Auburn winning the national championship. I've known about him for a while when he was here," remarked Allen.
He lists a top three of Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia. If one of those schools offered he would probably commit on the spot.
Next summer he plans on attending summer camps at Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss.
This season, Allen forced two fumbles from his secondary position. Last spring, he posted a 4.81 40 (laser-timed) at the Mobile Nike Football SPARQ Combine.
