Devon Allen picked up an Ohio State offer in the last couple days and the Phoenix (Ariz.) Brophy Prep wide receiver is definitely interested in the Buckeyes especially after watching some highlight tape of coach Urban Meyer's offense at Florida.
"It's definitely a big program," Allen said. "Coach Meyer is going to make it a lot bigger than it is now. He's a big-named coach and he's done a lot in his career.
"I'm really intrigued by the whole staff they got in there. I've seen some YouTube videos of coach Meyer and his offense and his trick plays and the high-powered offenses.
"I'm really into that. It would be nice to get on the phone with him and pick his brain a little bit and talk football with him."
That could happen soon or it might wait until the summer when Allen is planning a trip around the Midwest to the schools that have offered.
The four-star prospect said he and his father, an Ohio State alum, are hoping to take a week this summer and tour some campuses.
That trip could help Allen through his decision-making process.
"That's what we're trying to do, get to the Midwest sometime in the summer," Allen said. "Maybe spend a week out there and just drive around to all the schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and Purdue."
In his junior season, Allen finished with 44 receptions for 844 yards and 14 touchdowns. Rivals.com rates him as the No. 110 prospect in the early 2013 rankings.
The Brophy Prep standout has been picking up offers at a fast clip with Ohio State and Utah being the two latest.
Those two programs join Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Colorado State, Duke, Michigan, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Purdue, Stanford, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Washington on Allen's offer list.
