Allen checks out Michigan State

Rivals 250 safety Antonio Allen has picked up the pace on his campus visits in recent weeks. On Tuesday, the Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis prospect was in East Lansing, checking out a spring practice at Michigan State.
"It met up to my expectations and was pretty good," Allen said of Michigan State. "The coaches were cool and I liked the facilities. It is one of the best facilities I have ever seen."

According to Allen, Michigan State had come through with their scholarship offer in the month of March. He spent time during the practice talking with head coach Mark Dantonio and defensive backs coach Harlon Barnett and watching them coach on the field.
"Coach Dantonio is cool and laid back," Allen said. "They do a lot of things similar to what we do. I feel if I go in there and do my thing, I'd get some playing time."
Besides Michigan State, Allen holds offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Ole Miss and Purdue. The visit to East Lansing has helped Michigan State establish a spot among his top teams.
"They have always been at the top, but I don't feel that I have a No. 1 yet," Allen said. "I think I would be okay down there for the next four years. Not saying I am going to commit or anything, but I feel comfortable with them."
Purdue was the school Allen had visited most recently prior to his Michigan State trip. Next up is a visit to Ole Miss for their spring game on April 14.
