The rumor mill never stops churning when Signing Day is just around the corner and it usually centers around top commits like five-star offensive guard Tray Allen.
Allen, the 6-foot-4, 305-pound Texas commit, has been on the Longhorns' commitment list since announcing at a press conference at his school back in April. That doesn't mean that schools haven't been trying to get him to rethink his decision. Apparently, the talented Texan isn't worrying about that too much.
Just this week he's had to silence even more rumors.
"LSU came to my school, but everybody was saying that I had them in for an in-home visit," Allen said. "That's not true. I don't know what else to say to people when I hear that. They're just rumors. It's nothing more than that."
"I'm set for Texas."
Allen says that both LSU and Southern Cal haven't given up and have offered him a chance to visit both campuses before Signing Day comes and goes. While the talented Texas commit says that every high school player would love to see both places, it's not something he plans on doing at this time.
"I mean if I was going to take visits, yeah, then I'd go see LSU or USC or something like that," Allen said. "I'm probably going to pass on that though. Everybody would love to take a free trip out to those places. But it's more about coach Mack Brown being fine with it. That's important to me.
"So, I'm just going to let that stuff go."
