All-state DB has NW leader

After a couple of down years, by their standards, Concord (Calif.) De la Salle should have their best team in the last couple of years next season. One of the leaders on that team is defensive back Lonald Wishom, one of the top cover corner prospects in the west region next year.
Wishom, 5-11, 180 pounds is a talented player who earned all-league and second team all-state underclass honors last season. He's a physical defensive back who could play corner or even move to safety in college. Wishom has long arms and very quick feet. He's not a burner but plays with great technique and was rarely tested a year ago.

On the recruiting front, Wishom is hearing from the Pac 10 as well as Nebraska, Georgia Tech and the Ivy league.
"Oregon is my top school right now," Wishom said. "I'm hearing a lot from them and we have some former players there. I also like UCLA, Notre Dame, Arizona State and Cal, that would be my top five right now. I'm looking for a school where I like the coaches and have a good relationship with them. Early playing time is another important factor for me."
Academically, Wishom is carrying a 2.9 GPA and said he'll be at the Nike camp at Stanford in May.
