All-American Diary: First impression a good one

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Wichita Falls (Texas) Rider receiver David Nelson will be doing a daily diary from the U.S. Army All-American game for Rivals.com. The 6-foot-5, 195-pound Nelson checks in from the first day of festivities from San Antonio.
I was blown away when we got to San Antonio. When we stepped off the plane they had people clapping and cheering for us. It was like we were celebrities or something. Then we got in the van and drove to this first class hotel. It's an amazing hotel, probably the best place that I've ever stayed in.

When we got there they had signs up all around the hotel that said U.S Army All-American Bowl. It was really neat. I felt like it was one of the college bowl games the teams play in.
During check in, I had an chance to check out a few of the guys.
Roy Miller is a big ole guy. He's huge. His arms, chest look like tree trunks. He's one put together dude. DeMarcus Granger is big, too. I was impressed with how he looked. Martellus Bennett is also really big. I had no idea he was that big.
Martellus is also the team clown. He's walking around with this video camera filming everything. He's a funny guy to hang around with.
My roommate is Jamaal Charles.
I'm sure we'll talk a little bit about possibly going to Texas with each other. I've not had a chance to really talk to him yet since we've only been in our room for about 5 minutes.
We had a meeting tonight together with both teams. We talked about what the schedule is like. I don't know what to expect from practices. I don't know what type of offense we're going to run yet, but we've been told that our coach is one of the best offensive minds in high school football.
Well, that's it for today. We have a team meeting here in an hour, so I'll check back in tomorrow.
