Ali small, but exciting

Sometimes good things come in small packages.
Such is the case with 5-foot-8, 175-pound prospect MuAmmar Ali.

Ali plays tailback and cornerback for Vacaville (Calif.) Wood and is being recruited by colleges to play either position.
What he lacks in size, Ali makes up for in speed and production. He clocked a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the Stanford Nike camp and has rushed for 636 yards and four touchdowns in four games this season.
Last year, Ali rushed for 400 yards on just 32 carries, while also intercepting two passes.
His efforts have earned him attention from nearly all of the Pac10. They are calling him once a week.
“USC, Cal and Washington are probably my top three,” Ali said. “Cal has offered, but the other two haven’t yet. I get the feeling that there’s a chance they may offer though.”
Ali says he is also considering Arizona, Arizona State and San Diego State. He has yet to schedule any official visits but said he planned to start doing that sometime in the next couple of weeks.
