Aldridge adds to offer total

Merrillville, Ind., running back James Aldridge is one of the top backs in the Midwest. In mid-February Aldridge said he had scholarship offers from a number of schools including Missouri and Purdue. His scholarship offer list continues to grow.
"Today I got two more offers," Aldridge said. "I got one from Ohio State and one from Duke.

"The past week the schools that had already offered came with written offers. Purdue, Iowa State, Kansas State. Iowa and Missouri offered before too. And Oklahoma State."
"Ohio State and Oklahoma State are my two favorites. During spring break I'm going to Oklahoma State for a couple spring practices. And I'm going to get back to Ohio State for a spring practice.
"And I might get up to Notre Dame since it's right down the road.
"I'll probably make my decision in the summer because I'm going to graduate early."
Aldridge has been a varsity starter since his freshman year when he played mostly linebacker for Hazelwood (Mo.) Central. He moved to running back his sophomore season and gained 941 yards.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Aldridge moved to Merrillville prior to his junior year and had a break-out season. Aldridge gained 2100 yards, averaged 7.4 yards per carry, and scored 22 times as he established himself as one of the top backs in Big Ten country.
