Alaeze backing out of visits

Defensive end Melvin Alaeze said last week that he knew of at least four schools he'd be taking official visits to. Now he's taken a step back and is only sure about two.
"I think I'm going to be taking an official visit to Maryland next weekend, but I'm not 100-percent sure about that," said Alaeze. "If not this weekend then probably one pretty soon. I'm also most likely going to visit Virginia Tech, but I don't know the date or any specifics.

"I was pretty sure I was going to Miami and Southern Cal too, but I just don't know about that right now. I'm still interested in them, but I don't know how that will work out. I'd like to, but we'll wait and see."
The 6-foot-2, 277-pound defensive lineman from Randallstown, Maryland was absolutely dominating throughout the course of his senior season, recording 55 tackles and 18.5 sacks on the year.
"It's basically between Maryland, Virginia Tech, Miami, Southern Cal and Penn State at this point," he said. "I haven't planned any in-home visits with coaches yet, and it's going to be a while before I make a decision. I'll wait until close to Signing Day before I announce anything."
