Detroit Cass Tech defensive lineman Joshua Alabi recently released a new top five, and he visited two of those schools in the last couple weeks.
Alabi and teammate Mike Weber traveled to Wisconsin two weekends ago. It was his second visit to Madison after stopping by the school in the spring.
"There was a camp going on, but I didn't participate," Alabi said. "When we first got down there I first talked to the defensive coordinator, then Coach (Jeff) Genyk, the d-line coach and the head coach. It's a pretty good (relationship) right now. They seem like pretty cool guys and are easy to talk to."
The most recent visit to Wisconsin has further elevated the Badger's standing on Alabi's list of favorites.
"They are in my top five, so they are up there," Alabi said. "I like their 3-4 defense and like their defensive coordinator and their d-line coach."
Miami is a new addition to the list after the Hurricanes hosted the three-star lineman and a dozen of his teammates last weekend. Alabi's experience in south Florida opened his eyes to football at Miami.
"It was amazing," Alabi said. "I have been to Florida, but I had not been to South Beach. It was a great experience and I loved it.
"I liked the coaches there and it is a great environment. Coach (Jethro) Franklin, the d-line coach, sees me at defensive tackle."
Michigan State, Ohio State and Tennessee round out Alabi's current top five. He does not have any dates scheduled yet, but plans to visit each of those three schools in July. A final decision is still some time off.
"I am taking my official visits," Alabi said.
