Alabama sleeper having big year

An intriguing player to keep an eye on in Alabama is Beauregard’s Ladarius Webb.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Webb runs the 40 in 4.5 seconds and owns an impressive 38-inch vertical. He’s a three-sport star who also excels in basketball (17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 steals) and track (4A state champ in long jump, triple jump), so one can tell he oozes with raw athleticism.

Louisville, Southern Miss and Troy State have offered scholarships thus far, and a big senior season could lead to even more attention from the South’s top programs.
“I’ve got 15 combined touchdowns on offense and five interceptions on defense with one touchdown,” Webb said. “Our team started out 0-2, but we’ve won five straight now. I’m having a real fun season.”
Asked where he stood in his recruitment, Webb said: “I’m just keeping my options open right now. I kind of want to wait and see who all is going to offer before I make any decisions. Alabama and Auburn and Arkansas have been in contact, but not offered. I'd like to see what they say. Mainly, I’ve just been focused on my season and trying to make the playoffs.”
Regarding Louisville and Southern Miss, he offered the following breakdown:
“Louisville is a good program that’s been winning a lot lately. They have nice facilities and it’s a nice city, from what I’ve heard. They want me to play DB, and said I would probably end up playing my first year and not redshirt.
“Southern Miss is a good program, too. They’ve had a lot of success. They want me to play wide receiver, which I kind of like. I enjoy playing offense a lot. Defense is fun, too, but I like having the ball a lot more.”
As a junior, Webb passed for 730 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 780 yards and 10 scores. He also recorded 55 tackles and seven interceptions.
Academically, he carries a 3.0 GPA and has a 16 on his ACT. He’s scheduled to take the test again in November.
