Alabama safety has two offers

Hard-hitting safety Wesley Neighbors from Huntsville (Ala.) High has emerged with two scholarship offers, one from a Southeastern Conference program and one from an Atlantic Coast Conference program.
"Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt have offered me," Neighbors said.

"They are a good football team. They played solid last year and had a bunch of good players. It's a good university to go to. You get a good education there. That's the main thing that I am going to be looking for in terms of where I play is education. My parents have been driving that into me."
Jackets assistant Joe D'Alessandris is recruiting Neighbors for Georgia Tech.
Neighbors has some connections to the Vandy program.
"One of my cousins, Hamilton Holliday, plays for Vanderbilt right now," Neighbors said. "He's the center. I also know that Vanderbilt has a tough schedule year in and year out and it's also a good education there."
Assistant coach Robbie Caldwell is Neighbors' Vanderbilt recruiter of record.
Four relatives of Neighbors have played football at the University of Alabama and the Crimson Tide have shown interest.
"I went to Alabama's Junior Day," he said. "It was good. I was there really late because I had a baseball game earlier that day, but when I got there they treated me good and all. I have very good interest in the Tide, though I haven't yet been offered by them. They said they watched my tape today or yesterday."
Crimson Tide assistant coach Curt Cignetti has been in touch.
"(Cignetti) told me that coach Saban liked my film," he said. "(Alabama assistant coach) Kirby Smart sent me a text today and said he'd like to get to know me better, stuff like that."
Despite the interest from Bama, Neighbors hesitates to call them the team to beat.
"I'm open right now to anywhere," he said. "I'm just going to see what I have available. Where I have the greatest chance to play and get a good education."
Neighbors added that he is planning to make unofficial visits to Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech toward the end of March. Neighbors currently is playing baseball at Huntsville High.
Neighbors had 95 tackles and four interceptions during his junior season.
