Alabama safety getting looks

Madison (Ala.) Bob Jones safety Justin Vann is getting attention from several college programs that typically recruit the Yellowhammer State, including one of the major in-state schools.
"I haven't gotten any offers yet, really just a lot of letters," he said. "I've also been getting text messages from Alabama and their coaches and have been in contact with Georgia Tech and Clemson."

The 5-foot-11, 190-pounder has already made one unofficial visit to a college campus and plans another in the near future.
"I've been to Alabama's Junior Day and I am going to Georgia Tech later this month," he said. "I loved Alabama. They've got a good coaching staff and I really liked the facilities that they have there. I am from Alabama."
When Vann returns to Tech, it won't be the first time he's been on campus in Atlanta. He previously made an unofficial visit to check out the Jackets.
"When I went to Georgia Tech, I really loved the stadium," he said. "I thought it was awesome. Plus, they have some of the best players that could be in the NFL now, with Calvin Johnson and all. It's a great school in Atlanta, Georgia, so you can't beat that."
Vann also has been invited to a Junior Day event at Middle Tennessee State. Marshall and Iowa State also have been showing interest.
There are several things that Vann will take into consideration before he makes his college decision.
"I'm going to be looking at the football program and I am going to look at their campus a lot," he said. "I am also going to look at the city and the coaching staff, to see how they treat me and how my opportunities are to play."
