Alabama or Georgia for Britt

Four-star Cullman (Ala.) defensive tackle Justin Britt says he’s nearing a college decision.
“It’ll probably be coming in the next couple of weeks,” he said. “I’m about ready to make it. It’s going to be either Alabama or Georgia.”

Britt (6-4, 250, 4.8) has an official visit scheduled with Georgia for Nov. 15, the weekend of the Auburn game. He has a visit to Alabama set up for January, but is familiar enough with that program that it will be nothing more than a formality.
On the surface, it appears the Bulldogs’ chances of landing the nation’s No. 15 defensive tackle are slim. His two brothers, Wesley and Taylor, already play for the Crimson Tide.
Asked what might give UGA hope that he’ll buck the family trend, he said: “Well, I’ve got to make the best decision for me. My family understands that and has been real supportive of me. There’s no pressure at all to go to Alabama. My brother has even said, ‘Go where you’d go if as if I wasn’t (at Alabama). You’ve got to be your own man.’
“It’s just going to come down to where it feels right, and every time I’ve been to Georgia, I’ve had a great time and loved everything about it. They have a great atmosphere, a great coaching staff and defensive style -- a lot of the same things I like about Alabama. I’m just going to go wherever God leads me.”
Britt has also been considering LSU, and made an official visit to Baton Rouge on Oct. 10, but recently dropped the Tigers from the list.
“They have a real nice program, but it just didn’t feel as good as the other two,” he said. “I know Alabama or Georgia will be the right place for me.”
As a senior, Britt has helped lead Cullman to an 8-2 record heading into the Class 5A playoffs. Playing nose tackle in the 3-4 scheme, he’s recorded 82 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and 15 sacks despite constant double- and triple-teams.
