Aaron Sears will sign with Tennessee during an 11:30 a.m. ceremony at
his high school today, according to his coach.
"He's going to be a Tennessee Volunteer," said
Russellville coach Perry Swindall. "He's been quietly leaning that way for a
while now, maybe a year or so. He's always followed their program and spoken
real highly of them with me, so I wasn't too surprised when he told me that was
going to be the place for him.
"He said, 'Coach, if 8-4 is a bad season for them, I
can't wait to be part of the good ones.'"
Sears (6-4, 300, 5.0) is rated the No. 13 offensive
tackle in the nation. He picked the Volunteers over Auburn, Ohio State and
Miami.
"I think another thing that drew him to Tennessee was
the program's tradition of developing some great O-linemen," Swindall added.
