Alabama offers Rivals100 QB one day after he commits to Stanford

Rivals100 quarterback Davis Mills announced his commitment to Stanford on Tuesday via Twitter, but that didn't stop Alabama from extending the No. 25 player in the country a scholarship offer on Wednesday night. The Tide are still looking for their quarterback in 2017 class after losing Rivals100 quarterback Jake Fromm to Georgia earlier this month.

The offer will likely to do little to change Davis' mind as he told Rivals.com on Tuesday night that he's already shifted his mindset from recruit to recruiter.

"As a quarterback you want to get a good group of people behind you, with offensive line, running backs, receivers and defense, too," Mills said. "So I have to come up with the players that I'd maybe want to pull with me out there and really get at them and try to pull them to the Cardinal, too."

Since losing Fromm to Georgia, Alabama has offered several quarterbacks, including Southeast-based four-stars Jake Bentley and Bailey Hockman.
