Alabama offers R100 LB

On Thursday night Rivals100 linebacker Jahvoni Simmons was surprised by a new offer from the Alabama Crimson Tide. The stand out from Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes said he was caught off guard by the offer.
"I've been talking to them a little bit but I wasn't really expecting it," said the 6-foot-2, 225-pound Simmons. "I'm just shocked. I've just been talking with coach Thompson. I haven't really talked with many of the other coaches. From what I understand, the coaches down there are pretty good. They are competing for a national championship every year so they must be doing something right. I haven't been down there but we might during the offseason."

Syracuse was the school to offer Simmons right before Alabama.
"Syracuse is a good school," he said. "I talked to Shamarko Thomas and he said it's a good school. He said he would recommend me going up there and they have pretty good people up there. I haven't talked to the coaches up there much."
Simmons is in touch with a number of other schools.
"I've been talking to Florida, Nebraska, Florida State and a few others," Simmons said. "I think Nebraska will offer soon. I don't really know too much about them but I've been talking to the linebackers coach from out there. He is a pretty coach and he knows what he is talking about."
Miami, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and many others have already offered Simmons.
