Alabama, LSU top of mind for 2021 standout

MARIETTA, Ga -- Class-of-2021 defensive tackle Tim Keenan is deliberate when speaking about his recruitment. Despite his youth, he’s used to these kinds of conversation. The massive lineman already holds a cluster of major offers, including invites from Clemson, South Carolina, Alabama, LSU and Louisville. He’s done his share of interviews, so he chooses his words wisely.

“I wouldn't say I have any favorites yet, but I’m talking to LSU and Alabama the most,” Keenan said on Friday. “They are the most involved, but they aren’t for sure the leaders.”

Then again, Keenan didn’t need to say a single word for people to know LSU and Alabama were major players in his recruitment. That much has been clear for some time, and the reasons are familiar ones. The sophomore’s words on the matter don’t carry much shock value.

“They both have family environments,” Keenan said. “I like that about both of them. I like the dominance of the teams, too. LSU was good last year.”

Kennan attended both Clemson and Alabama’s spring games in recent weeks and says another SEC school may soon make things official with an offer.

“Tennessee is talking to me, but they haven’t offered,” Keenan said. “They want me to come down sometime during the spring and we’ll see.”

RIVALS TAKE: Keenan turned in an impressive performance at the Rivals Camp stop in Atlanta and was in the running for positional MVP honors. Alabama is probably the de facto leader for the time being, but that means little at this early stage. Keenan will capture more offers and his recruitment will change drastically in the year ahead.
