Alabama LB picks up first offer
Pelham, Ala. outside linebacker Nigel Terrell has picked up his first scholarship offer. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound athlete had been hearing from several programs and attending junior days and last week, he picked up some good news.
"I got an offer from Southern Miss," Terrell said. "It came in last week. I wasn't really expecting it. It came out of the blue because I only went one time to Southern Miss and that was the game against Boise State and they didn't really talk to me so it was the last offer I expected."

Though unexpected, the offer is very welcomed. As is always the case with college prospects, the first offer feels good.
"Oh yeah, it feels real good," he said. "I was sweating it when I found out I got that offer."
While Southern Miss was the first to act for Terrell, he has had the opportunity to hit up several campuses for junior days, most recently Auburn.
"I've been to a lot of junior days these past few weeks," he said. "I went to Alabama two weeks ago and then I went to Tennessee the weekend before this and then Auburn this weekend. I'm going to Southern Miss next weekend.
"I like the schools. I like the coaching staffs and everything. I really like how Auburn, they're goaches were really concerned about who comes to their school and everything and they have a good group there as far as their coaching staff."
Out of all of his junior day visits, the one that certainly made the biggest impression was the coaching antics at Tennessee that saw several of the assistants shirtless in an attempt to fire up the prospects on campus.
"Tennessee was crazy," he said. "The coaches are wild. I was like, 'are they crazy?' At first it was like that and then a few of the players from the school actually came out and I was like man, they know how to have fun."
As a junior, Terrell picked up over 100 tackles from his outside linebacker position. He is versatile and has played several other positions in his career but he is beginning to feel comfortable as an outside backer.
"Coaches really like me off the edge and I don't like my hand down at defensive end. I like to see the field."
