Alabama LB having big year

Mobile (Ala.) Davidson linebacker Brandon Maye is having a huge senior season and is getting plenty of interest from a number of college programs.
"Things are going pretty good for me, I've been having a big season," the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder said. " I was Mobile Press-Register Defensive Player of Week for Week three 14 tackles vs. McGill-Toolen. The next week, I had 14 tackles, one interception, one ff, one fumble recovery one touchdown vs. Baker.

"Auburn, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt coaches were at that game. Also, coach Rick Trickett was at the game from West Virgina. I've talked to him before."
Maye, who currently holds a scholarship offer from Southern Mississippi, has been receiving phone calls from a number of other recruiters.
"I get calls from Louisiana-Lafayette, South Carolina calls once a week and I talked to Florida," Maye said. "I talked to Alabama once and Georgia Tech said they were going to offer once they get the film to me and I have to take two more foreign languages to get an offer from them."
Maye also has heard from Kentucky, Purdue and Boston College.
Three schools currently are recruiting him the hardest.
"Southern Miss, Georgia Tech and South Carolina are showing the most interest," he said.
Maye, who has 54 tackles so far this season, will make an unofficial visit to Auburn this weekend with Rivals100 safety Michael McNeil, his high school teammate for the Tigers' home clash with Arkansas. He will head to Hattiesburg, Miss., the following weekend to check out Southern Miss and the Golden Eagles' home game against Houston.
He plans to take all five allotted official visits following the season
Maye is a two-star rated recruit by Rivals.com.
