The Latest

The state of Alabama has produced its share of top-flight football talent in recent years, with several former five-stars emerging from the Yellowhammer State. As the recruiting approach of many schools evolves, players are beginning to surface earlier and earlier during the process. A perfect example is Class of 2022 Alabama prospect Khurtiss Perry, who already has a few Power Five offers to his name despite just playing his freshman season of football. Rivals.com recently caught up with Perry to talk about his early success and what's next for him on the recruiting trail.

In His Words

"I started getting offers during the season. Mississippi State was the first one. They told my coach they liked my game and wanted to be the first ones to offer me and that was big for me. After that I got Virginia Tech. I want to make sure I get out and visit those two schools because they are the first ones to believe in me. A few other schools might offer soon. South Carolina, Tennessee, Ole Miss and Texas A&M have all been showing interest so we'll see how it goes."

Rivals Reaction

After an impressive showing against older prospects at the All-American Bowl Combine in San Antonio earlier this month it wouldn't be at all shocking to see Perry continue to raise his stock and offer list during the spring and summer. He's still young but has many of the traits of an elite prospect and it shouldn't take long before schools across the Southeast take notice.
