Alabama flips Rivals250 ATH Aeryn Hampton from Texas

Alabama dipped into the Lone Star State on National Signing Day and flipped four-star ATH Aeryn Hampton from his longtime commitment to Texas.

The process: Before recommitting to Texas on July 7th, it was a two-team race for Hampton as he took summer officials with both the Longhorns and the Crimson Tide. Obviously, the communication with Nick Saban and his staff never wavered throughout the process. In-home visits with Saban and offensive coordinator Tommy Rees down the stretch were enough to convince the dynamic athlete to put pen to paper and head to Tuscaloosa.

What the Crimson Tide are getting: The No. 154 player in the 2024 class, Hampton is a dynamic two-way player that excels at wide receiver and safety. While Texas was recruiting him for defense, Alabama's pitch during his summer visit was playing as a slot receiver. Regardless, the 5-foot-11, 180-pound talent can get it done on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, Hampton hauled in 37 catches for 841 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 299 yards and three scores during his senior season. On defense, he recorded 93 tackles and two interceptions.
