Alabama DT picks up big in-state offer

The interest has been steadily picking up for Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park defensive tackle Jeremiah Jackson. The 6-foot-2, 265-pounder had picked up five major college offers including three from within the SEC before this weekend. However on Saturday, a fourth SEC offer came in and this one was from within the state borders.
While at Auburn's junior day, Jackson got some good news from the Auburn staff.

"I went down there this weekend and I talked to Coach Chizik and Coach Rocker and they offered," Jackson said. "I was very excited. You gotta love the in-state school."
The trip went well for Jackson, not only because of the offer but he also was able to get a better feel for the Auburn campus.
"We went down there and basically they were trying to show us a little about Auburn," he said. "We saw the campus the stadium. We saw some highlight videos. It's a great program and it's got some history. I love Auburn. I think it's a great program."
Following his stop at Auburn, Jackson has no more immediate plans for any more junior days but he does hope to get up to Vanderbilt to take in spring practice in Nashville. He also is still considering whether he will attend any camps in the spring or summer.
As has been his mindset with all of his offers to date, Jackson was sure not to take anything for granted with regards to the Auburn interest.
"Whenever a school offers you, you always think it's a surprise and a blessing so I just look at it that way," he said. "I wouldn't say I expected anything. I'm just thankful for every offer that comes."
