Alabama DB hoping for Vandy offer

Phenix City (Ala.) Central defensive back Christian Campbell already has an offer list that includes nine schools, but he's still holding out hope that one big SEC school will pull the trigger.
"I know Vanderbilt hasn't offered me yet because of my ACT score but they're coming the hardest right now," said Campbell, whose offer list includes Memphis, Southern Miss, Western Kentucky and others. "I camped at Vanderbilt and that's how they knew about me. I went there two times and I really love the school."

Campbell spent the first half of his summer visiting several school before shifting his focus to offseason workouts and seven-on-seven. Now, with his season about to kick off, he said he's keeping an open mind about the process.
"I went to a lot of schools and visited and did a lot of camps this summer," he said. "Right now they're all the same. I don't have a leader."
Campbell said in addition to the Commodores he's still talking regularly with Northern Illinois and Arkansas State.
"I got an offer from NIU and I visited this summer because my aunt lives in Chicago," he said. "They're pretty nice and they're coming pretty hard, too."
Because of the renewed interest from several programs and the hope of improving his ACT, Campbell said he's pushing his decision until after the season.
"I don't know when I want to make my decision," he said. "For now I'm going to keep an open mind and look at all my options."
