Alabama ATH heads out of state

Loachapoka, Ala., athlete Montae Pitts has been leaning toward Tennessee for quite some time. Now, he's more than leaning.
He's committed.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound four-star selection announced that he has committed to the Vols late Thursday night, picking UT over Virginia Tech, Auburn, Ole Miss and LSU.
"I have decided to go public and announce that I am going to Tennessee,” Pitts said. “It is a done deal. I am going to Tennessee to get away from home and be a part of a winning tradition. My family feels good about it and they support me."
So why did he pick the Vols?
“I felt like I needed to get away to accomplish what I need to accomplish and get to the next level,” he said. “It will be nice to meet new people and be out on my own.”
Pitts said he will still visit Auburn this weekend, but it doesn't matter - he's a Vol.
“I will still be for Auburn,” he said. “I have grown up here and have a lot of friends there. I will be wearing orange but it will be orange and white instead of orange and blue.”
